Wildflowers & Wild Horses Psychological

Welcome/Bienvenue!

I’m so glad you’re here

Losing someone you love, saying goodbye to a beloved pet, the end of a friendship or relationship, or carrying the wounds of trauma, rejection, or abandonment can feel like your heart has been torn open — leaving you raw, numb, or overwhelmed with grief and emptiness. In the midst of that pain, it’s easy to feel invisible, unworthy, or completely alone. But your hurt is real, your feelings matter, and you don’t have to face this darkness by yourself. My passion is creating a safe, supportive space where you can openly share your experiences, emotions, and struggles.

Who I support

I enjoy supporting adults (18+) and first responders (e.g., RCMP, fire rescue services, paramedics, nurses, etc.) who may be facing mental health challenges, including, but not limited to, loss and grief, trauma, PTSD, and emotional/attachment injuries.

How I support you

I’m a bilingual registered psychologist, offering sessions in both French and English. From a trauma-informed approach, we will recognize how past experiences can shape how we feel, think, and connect with others today — often in ways we don’t even realize. We’ll create a safe, trusting space to explore what you’ve been through with compassion rather than judgment. I see reactions like shutting down, feeling on edge, or disconnecting, not as flaws, but as ways your system has tried to keep you safe. In our work, we’ll connect with what the body is trying to tell us, learn gentle ways to calm your body, and understand your emotions. The focus isn’t on what’s “wrong” with you, but on what’s happened to you.

Through an Emotionally Focused therapeutic lens, we’ll slow things down, tune into your emotions, and understand what’s happening underneath — the feelings that sometimes get missed or come out in ways that don’t feel helpful. By understanding these deeper experiences, you can begin to recognize your emotional patterns, make sense of your reactions, build emotional safety, and develop healthier patterns of communication. Many people find that this helps them build stronger, more secure connections with themselves and their loved ones.

Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP)

I grew up on an acreage in southern Manitoba. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I wholeheartedly believe in their ability to help us heal from life’s challenging moments. While traditional talk therapy can be beneficial, it is not without its limitations. Being vulnerable with another human being can be incredibly difficult!

EAP is a unique and powerful form of therapy that involves working with horses as part of the healing process. You don’t need any experience with horses — the focus isn’t on riding, but on interacting with them in ways that help you learn more about yourself. During sessions, you might engage in activities such as grooming, leading, or observing the horses, while reflecting on what comes up emotionally or relationally. Together, we’ll explore what these experiences might represent in your life — for example, patterns in relationships, confidence, trust, or communication.

Why horses?

Horses are incredibly sensitive animals. They respond to our emotions, body language, and energy in the moment. This makes them great partners in therapy, because their reactions can help you gain insight into how you relate to others, manage emotions, set boundaries, and respond to stress.

Alongside our hooved friends, we will work toward self-awareness, emotional regulation, develop trust, boundaries, and confidence, and process grief, trauma, or anxiety in a gentle, embodied way, and practice mindfulness and grounding in the present moment. The connection with horses often feels authentic and non-judgmental, creating a safe space for healing and growth.
